My husband uses the beds to stay overnight up to 2 nights at ultra trail races. Best setup we have found! So easy, so functional, very comfy! He sleeps on one side and uses the other for changing.
MiniNests bed and kitchen unit custom made for a toyota sienna fits nicely and allows for a place to sit using the third row seats when the bed is folded. There's plenty of room for storage behind the third row seats (second row seats were removed). It turns out a jackery generator and a dometic refrigerator fit nicely under the legs of the bed when it�s folded out so it leaves room to stand and for a german shepherd overnight. It�s all a little tight but that was expected when trading room for 35 mpg. The sink works with the top up or down and the water tank and gray water tank are easy to access behind the left side door. With the pop top you can stand easily to cook and the pop top provides storage to get stuff out of the way when the top is up. The only issue I�ve had is unrelated to the Mini Nest set up. I�m using an induction cooktop instead of the gas stove that came with the kitchen. If the minivan and therefore the table extension for the kitchen unit isn't close to level, the pot starts to slide off the glass top of the burner so wedges are needed to make sure the cooktop is level before use.
I was thrilled to find him and he did a great job setting up my 2013 Toyota Sienna with a 2/3 width fold-out bed and cabinet. It's remarkably easy to use and creates an excellent bed. The whole philosophy of working with Toyota Siennas and other smaller vans is brilliant... the large Sprinter vans are great if you're going to cut free and live in a van for half a year, but for most of us who just want some extra comfort at a trailhead, or while pulling off long haul road trips to get to that coveted destination, a tricked out minivan is plenty of room and much more practical and friendly on the environment. David's putting together a great line-up of products for making this possible - bringing old-school camper van comfort into the modern era without the hassle of an old VW or the cumbersome and unnecessary scale of a giant Sprinter. I'm super happy with my bed.
Wow, so happy with my MiniNests kitchen and bed setup. Before placing an order, I sent a number of questions to David - all were fully answered. I really wanted a kitchen setup in the van, versus in the back/trunk area (which seems to be the most typical offering from other providers for minivans). I also only needed a solo bed - which was an option. I placed my order and received it in about 3 weeks - shipping quickly via UPS. Very well packaged and nothing to assemble - just place the kitchen and bed in my minivan and secure via the provided attachment(s) - took me a bit over an hour the first time -- probably can do it now in less than 30 minutes. Quality is great and I'm ready to make my great roadtrip.
We've had the fold-out bed for our 2009 Sienna van for almost a year. David worked with us to customize the type of foam material to best meet our needs. The quality is excellent and the design is absolutely brilliant! Convertibility is a must for how we use our minivan. With the bed in place, we still have room for 3 passengers, a dog crate, cooler, and other gear. But when we need to haul furniture, kayaks, or anything bulky, it's a snap to remove the bed and have maximum space. Nothing else available provides this type of functionality. For us, it doesn't make sense to own a dedicated camping vehicle that sits unused most of the time. This is the perfect solution! Very happy with our purchase.
